Blues Duncan James is introducing his daughter to his new boyfriend after Celebrity First Dates Hotel success

DUNCAN James has decided to introduce his boyfriend to his 14-year-old daughter after going on his first public date with a man on First Dates Hotel.

The next episode of the Channel 4 series airs tonight and will show Duncan, 41, getting to know a hunky potential partner.

He appeared on ITV’s Lorraine today and opened up about his love life, after coming out as bisexual in 2009.

In 2014, he said that he identified as gay, but he told host Lorraine Kelly today that he finds it difficult bringing relationships into the public eye.

Lorraine played a clip of Duncan and his gorgeous first date, with the singer admitting to Lorraine Kelly that he “is cute”.

She then remarked that it “must have been difficult” and said: “It was. I’ve never done anything like this before.

Duncan admitted to his date that this was his ‘first public date with a man’

“I’ve always felt anxious about going out with a partner, I’ve always shied away from that because I’m quite shy.

“But I got approached to do it for Stand Up To Cancer, it’s a great cause. I’m a huge fan of First Dates, so getting to First Dates hotel in Italy, I thought, do you know what, I’ve got to do this.”

Lorraine touched on the fact that Duncan has revealed his sexuality “in stages” as she added: “Everyone finds their own way”.

And James replied: “Coming from the era that I did, in the boyband world, all the female fans, the pressure from record companies. Pressure to sell records to women. And I felt quite scared of that.”

Duncan has started a relationship with Rodrigo and said ‘life is good’

Duncan has now started a new relationship and admitted “life is good”.

After a sweet photo of Duncan and new man Rodrigo appeared on screen, he told viewers: “It’s very early stages. He’s a lovely boy.

“I don’t won’t to give too much away because the episode airs tonight on Channel 4. So we’ll see what happens.”

However, he revealed that his daughter Tianie-Finn James, who he co-parents with his ex and former ballet dancer Claire Grainger, is going to meet his new love.

Excited Duncan said: “My daughter i 14, it’s crazy how much time flies.

“She’s very good at her ballet, she’s been very dedicated and focused. She’s got a place at the Royal Ballet School.

“I’m very happy, and I’ve got her this weekend, which is nice. She’s going to meet my fella this weekend for the first time and that is a big step as well.

“He’s met my mum, my mum likes him which is always good!”
